Witzenhausen is a charming town in the Werra-Meißner-Kreis district in northeastern Hesse, Germany. Known as the "Cherry Town," it is famous for its cherry orchards and the annual cherry festival.

The town is home to the University of Kassel's Faculty of Organic Agricultural Sciences, making it a center for sustainable agriculture research and education in Germany.
