The adoption of IRAS marks a major milestone in the Town Council’s digital transformation agenda aimed at modernizing local government operations and enhancing efficiency in revenue administration.
What is IRAS?
IRAS is a locally developed, and affordable local revenue management system, accessible through the web and mobile applications, and providing a 360-degree view of the taxpayer profile and the revenue functions of taxpayer registration, billing assessment, collections, reports, etc and provides the required capability to Local governments to transform their tax and revenue collections into a fully integrated customer centric service.
Through the system, taxpayers and business owners can now access revenue services more conveniently while reducing paperwork and minimizing delays associated with manual processes.
According to the Town Council leadership, the implementation of IRAS is expected to increase local revenue performance, improve monitoring of collections, and support informed decision-making through real-time reporting.
The IRAS system has already demonstrated ability to solve local revenue management and administration challenges, and improve its local revenue performance which in turn enhances service delivery in local governments,
